Gas Sensing for Cooling and Combustion using Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems

Developed a high-frequency, high-sensitivity gas-analysis method by pulsing the tungsten filament of a MEMS gas-flow sensor. A finite-element model was derived and validated with high-pressure argon, compressed dry air, and exhaled breath, improving measurement frequency by three orders of magnitude over contemporary commercial sensors.
